Mission:
A Silence of Friends
Location: Sickbay, Deck 4, USS Thunderbird
Timeline: MD002 - 0900
On-boarding, the process of becoming part of a ship's crew, wasn't something Jules was particularly familiar with, having spent her Starfleet career to-date in more boots-on-the-ground situations. Which meant doing a bit of research but she was nothing if not thorough in her research and so, she understood that seeing the ship's physician was part of the process. Presumably ensuring that she didn't report carrying some infectious disease that the contaminant filtering system was unequipped to handle or at least that's what she thought. Either way, she needed to undo the cosmetic surgery that had left her spotless. And that, more than procedure, was the reason she was in Sickbay rather than putting it off as long as possible.
She entered through the wide double doors and looked around for someone in charge. She recognized him at once because that too was part of the research, knowing who was who among the senior staff, and she was, after all, really good with faces. Once seen, never forgotten. She headed in his direction, adopting a smile as she walked, and said, "I'm Lieutenant Raihan. Just reported aboard and in need of your services."
"Good day," Pat said turning around from the area he had been working and seeing the Lieutenant. He motioned to the free biobed. "How can I help you today?"
"I was preparing for a long-term undercover assignment," Jules said as she hopped up onto the biobed. "As part of the preparation, they removed my spots." She paused a second. "I'm Trill and now that I'm going to be staying on the Thunderbird, I want you to undo what they did and give them back to me."
"OK." Pat said. "I will have to go into your file and get all the information on what they used to... despot you. And then make sure we have all the materials I need to do that. It shouldn't be an issue. I'm still getting to know what tools we have here and what tools I need to get." Pat walked over to his tray and took out the tricorder and medical sensor. "What I'm going to do it get base readings now."
"Read away," Jules said, as she spread her arms. "I've had any number of bruises, breaks and sprains over the last five years but as far as the last doctor said, I'm in good shape."
Pat laughed. "Nothing out of the ordinary for anyone on this ship I've noticed. I haven't seen anyone who really hasn't been to sickbay at least once." He finished his readings. "OK. Let me input some information into the computer..." Pat said as his fingers danced across the bio bed monitor. " Based on what I have here, this shouldn't be an issue at all. Thankfully all they did was hide them, so reversing what they did with the bio bed and scanner, will bring them back."
"Good," Jules said, with a relieved sigh, "not that I'm out of undercover work, at least for the immediate future, I want to go back to looking like me. So ... when can we do this? Is now convenient?"
"I need to get everything in first - perhaps this afternoon? Let me work on getting your specs into the system as well as the procedure. Procedure itself should take no longer than maybe 30 minutes according to what I imagine. You would have to be still. I can give you the rest of the plan once I've gotten it all down." Pat said.
"Just let me know and I'll be here," Jules said, nodding her agreement. "I'm good at holding still. It's a skill you acquire when you're sneaking around and trying not to be noticed." She smiled mischievously as she added, "even learned how to hold my breath because sometimes, even that's enough to give a position away. Though I doubt I could hold it, my breath that is, for thirty minutes."
"That's something thankfully I never managed to do. I mean I can hold my breath but not for a long time. " Pat typed some more information into his tricorder. "Ok what about you come back around 1500. That will give me enough time to go over everything and have it all set up and ready to go for you."
"Sounds good to me," Jules said. "Now would have been better but I'd rather it was done right. So, I'll see you again at 1500. Unless there's something else you need to do?"
"Nope, I've gotten everything here I need. I'll see you at 1500. " Pat said.
"See you then," Jules said as she hopped down off the biobed. There were still things to be done. Quarters and her office to be found, for one, though unpacking could wait till later. Then there was a meeting with Daegan and after that, settling in with her team. She nodded politely to the doctor and headed out of Sickbay.
